I love these long summer days up here in Utah. It's finally May and we are all crossing our fingers in hopes that it will finally stop snowing. Day three and it looks like rain so far. We'll see.
I am having a wonderful summer so far and I am certainly keeping busy.
Last week was a fun-filled week.
I worked all week - I absolutely love my job! We have been getting busier and busier as the days go on as our department and business continues to grow. I love the people I work with, especially the people on my team. It certainly makes work more enjoyable to work with great people - even if I have to wear nylons every day.
I attend a student ysa ward in a pre-marriage stake (as my stake president likes to call it) which means that most of the members in my ward go to the LDSBC - students.
Recently that has all been changed.
Our stake and ward boundaries have all been adjusted and we are now regular ysa wards and stakes as opposed to student wards and stakes. You now attend the ward based off where you live - geographically vs. attending a ward because you attend that university.
On Tuesday, four stakes were invited to attend a special meeting where they showed maps of where the new stake boundaries were. We sat at the feet of Elder M. Russell Ballard and listened to other speakers like Sister Julie B. Beck and other area seventies. What an experience!
Wednesday I went to the Temple with my boyfriend - I love those date nights :)
Friday night I went on a date! My boyfriend and I went out to eat together and then we went bowling - and lets just say that he owes me a scoop of ice cream :)
We drove around for a bit and enjoyed each others company and the beautiful scenery on our drive - the sunset was beautiful.
We came back to my apartment and watched a movie with my roommate and her boyfriend.
Saturday morning, I got up early and my boyfriend came over to my apartment. Still in our PJ's, we made chocolate chip pancakes together and ate breakfast together.
Later we went to his house and I cut his hair.
That's right - I cut his hair.
We ran a few errands at the mall and then we went out for lunch. We stopped and took pictures at this beautiful granite church building on our way to feed the ducks.
Well, mostly seagulls.
They are so funny! I loved it!
I loved spending the day having that one-on-one time with my boyfriend. :)
Later that evening we played grounders with a group of our friends - had a blast.
Sunday was the day we figured out our ward boundaries. We met our new bishoprics and I am so excited for next Sunday! The only thing I am bummed about is that I am now in a 1pm ward and I am no longer in the same ward with my boyfriend :(
This week has been fun too.
I am still going strong - My roommate and I still go jogging every morning. We leave a little earlier now, we like to walk out the door around 8am and we have been going around the neighborhood near where we live instead of going around the complex all the time. Its been nice to get a scenery change.
Monday, I worked from 12 to 5 and then my boyfriend and I went grocery shopping. It's so nice to have food in the house! I made a budget for the month of May and I evaluated April's budget.
Tuesday I worked from 12 to 4 and then I spent a little time with my boyfriend before he went to the Temple. I went over to a friend's house for a while and spent some time with her. Super nice - I hadn't seen her in a while. We walked around her cute little neighborhood; admiring the houses as we walked past and I wished the whole time that I had had my camera on me...
We went to the store and grabbed some chips to go with our homemade dip and later my boyfriend came over too and we all watched a movie.
Today I got up early and jogged with my roommate again - I'm starting to like it more. I feel like in the past I haven't always really liked jogging... but man if I had a bike, I would be out all the time!
Anyways, I worked from 12 to 3. There wasn't much for me to do today, and because I worked extra on Monday, I left early today..
I called my brother for his birthday! Wow he is nineteen years old now, and a soon-to-be missionary! I am so proud of him! This will be the last time I can call him for his birthday for two years..
I went to the Temple with my boyfriend and then we took the trax to his place. We made grilled cheese sandwiches together, watched the kitchen pipe under the sink break and spray water, watched a good movie, and then he drove me home. Such a nice evening. ha.
Life for me is so good. So good.
I've been up to everything from hiking Ensign peak, attending different Temples that I don't normally go to, going to jump-on-it on a double date, planning a trip to Oregon next week, exercising more, eating healthier, reading my scriptures more, paying better attention to my finances, working, ultimate Frisbee in the park, trips to TCBY, and just stretching myself more and more.
Man, life is so good, I feel like dancing all the time :)

Twix Wrappers
I love Twix bars.
Just so you know.
I got up early again this morning to jog with my roommates. Day four and I'm starting to feel a bit sore, but I love making sure that I get some physical activity into my day.
I pretty much walk everywhere I go these days anyways - I walk to the trax station to get to work and school and then I walk pretty much everywhere else.
On a semi regular basis, my boyfriend will drive to work in the mornings, so when we both get off at the same time, he will drive me home.
Other than that I am usually out walking.
I just want to set the record straight that I'm no couch potato.. (But I do have several Twix bar wrappers on my desk that I am munching on as we speak.. the pile just keeps accumulating...)
Anyways...
I ran out the door today because I was running on the late side.
The one day that I choose to wear a flowy skirt, it is super windy.
Awesome.
So I'm running to catch the trax so I wont be late for work, while trying to keep my shoes on and my skirt down.
I made it.
*whew*
Work went well today, not much to report. (Not much that I can report)
I worked a little longer today because I was waiting for my boyfriend to get off work. But hey, because I worked a little extra today, I get off a little early tomorrow! :)
We went to the Temple tonight - our stake conference is this weekend and to 'kick it off' we have a stake Temple night on the Thursday before. It was really nice.
Funny story: As we were walking in, I took a step backward and ran into this poor old man.
Thats not the funny part.
Me: "Oh, excuse me, I'm sorry"
Man: "That's all right."
And he walks away, no big deal.
Turns out he was the General Authority speaking at our chapel meeting tonight.
Me: "Is that the guy I ran into just a minute ago?"
Boyfriend: "Umm.. Yep. You bumped the General Authority. Way to go."
Oops.
Tonight was kinda just laid back.
Ramen and a movie night. Great time :)
Now I'm off to bed. Time to throw away all my Twix wrappers and put away whats left of them for another day.
Just so you know.

Summer Days
Ah... It feels wonderful to be done with school for a few weeks. Summer has finally arrived, and I plan on making the most of it. This summer will be one to remember!
One of my roommates was recently engaged so she moved out. We were really blessed to find a new roommate so quickly. I have a feeling that our new roommate and I are going to get along just great.
1. We both drink skim milk.
Do I need to say more?
Well, she has motivated me to get out and exercise with her each morning. I get up early and jog and walk fast with her around the block a few times each morning and then come back home and stretch and do some sit-ups.
I feel so good! It really makes my day. If I can exercise, I can do anything! ha. (Even blog!)
So my new morning routine goes something like this:
I get up around 8:30 and exercise with my roommates for 30 min. Then I eat breakfast and take a shower. I read my scriptures, do my hair and make-up, and get dressed for the day. I check my email or hop on facebook. Make my bed if I have time. Pack a lunch and walk out the door around 11:20.
I work from 12-4 each day now and I love this new schedule! I love my job too. Lately we haven't been very busy, but soon we will be.
I got off work at 4 and meet up with my boyfriend and he drove me home. Later that evening I went to FHE with him and some friends.
FHE this week was a road show/stake skit night. We put on a pretty funny skit, and it was super fun.
A friend of ours worked down the street from the institute building and had access to a theater where we could watch a movie.
We ordered pizza and watched kung-fu panda.
Awesome night.
Tuesday I had the same morning routine and work schedule. When I got off at 4, my boyfriend and I drove over to his house so that he could change his clothes and grab a recipe.
My boyfriend and I made a to-do list of the things we wanted to do together. One of the things on our list is to find a new recipe and cook together. We cook together often, but we usually make things that we eat regularly.
We made a really great meal; a chicken with rice and peas and cream of chicken soup. yummm...
It was a nice day, so we drove to the park and went for a walk around the block (2 miles)
I had a gift card to Spoon Me so we went there and split a yogurt treat. I love that place...
After that we went to his house and played a few games with some friends including a game that I had never heard of before.
We drove to the park and went over to the playground to play a game called 'grounders'
One person is 'it' and with their eyes closed, they have to make their way over to the playground and tag someone. The other players must stay on the playground. If they choose to hop off the play ground and walk over to another side in order to avoid being tagged, they must do so quickly and silently, for if the player who is 'it' calls 'grounders!' - which they can shout at any point whenever they wish to - then whoever is on the ground is now 'it' as well. Eventually, more and more people get tagged and are it until it narrows down to the last two players. Who ever does not get tagged, wins the game.
Super fun!
Wednesday (today) was a super day too. Again, beginning with the same routine and work schedule that ended at 4. My boyfriend and I went to the Temple together and then came back home and ate left-overs from our delicious meal from the night before. We made a trip to TCBY with our friends and then had a movie night.
It has been kinda rainy this week, except for Tuesday. But as the days go on, they keep warming up. And these summer times are the ones I want to remember always..

Another New Begining For Me
"Who can say if I've have been changed for the better? I do believe that I have been changed for the better."
(Wicked)
Where do I even begin? I have been wanting to blog all day today. Why? Well lets back up to one year ago from today.
One year ago from today - to say that I felt like I was alone is an understatement. I was the saddest I think I have ever been. I was confused and heartbroken to say the least. I had not slept well the night before.
I cried.
I sobbed.
I arose early that morning from my sister's house, although I had hardly slept. And with tears still in my eyes - never ceasing to flow - my kind and loving sister drove me to the air port.
You all know how much I love the air port.
It didn't help.
I was on my way home for the sumer. All summer long.
I cried the whole flight home to Texas. The flight attendant and the man next to me on the plane didn't know what to do or say. I wish they hadn't tried to do or say anything.
I called my mom and told her that I only wanted her and Dad to pick me up.
I didn't want my siblings to see me.
I was embarrassed.
Why was I so upset?Words can hardly or adequately describe. My heart had been completely shattered, and it was the most excruciatingly painful feeling I had ever felt in my life.
I was drained of all energy. I had no interest in doing anything but curling up in my bed, or sitting on my back porch for some fresh Texas air (long since I had felt so good of sunshine or breathable air as I did that summer), or on my knees in my closet.
I got sick. I was sick for a week.
My mother - although unaware of how truly empty I felt inside and unsure of exactly what to say to comfort me - was so gentle and kind.
My older sister as well - she often called to check on me and hear me cry or send me letters in the mail filled with love.
I was never more comforted by my family than in this my darkest hour.
A few friends as well from school - even though so far away - were still a comfort to me.
Thus began the most challenging and the longest summer I have ever experienced.
I thought it would never end.
Although I had so many wonderful people beside me, I still always felt empty. Their words did nothing - for my heart was numb (or at least what was left of it)
As I laid in total darkness inside, my mother's words still ring clear to me - although the exact wording I can not recall. She told me to get up. She told me to get a job. And she told me to read my scriptures every day.
I did.
You better believe I did.
I got a job. A good one. I worked hard.
A job that has given me more experience on so many levels that I wouldn't have ever had other wise. Working with children at that day care not only taught me skills that will prepare me for motherhood, but taught me again and reaffirmed to me again the simpleness of childlike faith and patience that I so desperately needed.
I also had a calling in my home ward - nursery leader.
No accident, eh?
And you better believe that I read my scriptures every single day that summer. Didn't skip a single day. Sometimes I read more than once a day. Hours.
I had a wrestle with the spirit, desperately seeking peace and answers. But it wasn't until I had come back to good old Salt Lake City when I received true peace of mind, of heart, of soul - and was truly comforted.
Not until after the trial of my faith.
I had to find all the pieces of my shattered heart, and bring them to my Heavenly Father and ask him to put it back together. It wasn't easy.It took a long time.
It was painful.
So very painful.
But
So very, very worth it.
I received an answer like I had never received before. And for the first time in a long time, I felt true peace.
True peace.
I felt real again.
After that never ending summer, I felt like I could be me again.
Happy even.
I started over.
I dated again.
I didn't make the same mistakes.
No sir.
I didn't rush.
I communicated and made things clear.
I found someone.
I hesitated.
I was slow.
He was patient.
I opened my heart up again.
And I fell in love again.
So very, very in love.
So what is it about this experience that has led me to have truly changed for the better?
New man in my life? New roommates? New calling in my singles ward?
No.
It's something that I have just recently discovered.
Recently, I introduced my boyfriend to my mom for the first time. And it was something he said that I will never forget."She is safe with me Sister Mitchell, you can trust me."
Let me explain what I mean. First off, I believe very strongly in the standards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For example, I believe in dressing modestly because I respect myself and those I date and those around me. I know that there are some girls who do not dress modestly because they hope to attract a young man's attention.
"You can trust me."
That young man, however, is some one's son. Someone who's parents love them so very, very dearly. Who's parents love them and know them more than perhaps you do. Someone who's parents want to protect them and want the very best for them, who want them to be worthy to take a daughter of God to the Temple someday.
Am I the kind of young woman that this young man's parents can rely on to keep and uphold all of the standards at all times and in all things and in all places?
I want to be able to meet my boyfriend's parents someday and tell them that they can trust me - I am that kind of young woman.
Not that I have wavered much from this - I feel like I have always clung to theses standards.
As also I feel like my boyfriend is the same - he is that kind of young man who keeps the standards and tries his best each day.
So what does this have to do with my changing for the good? I have learned what respect means. what real respect means. And how it goes hand-in-hand with trust.
Real trust. Real love.
I uphold the standards because I trust in my Heavenly Father, because I have respect for myself, and because I love those around me.
I am truly grateful for each person in my life, for they have touched me for good. I am grateful for the experiences I have had - even the painful ones - that have led me to this point in my life.In the past year, I have grown and learned so much. I have learned how to rely on my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.
In fact, "I do believe that I have changed for the better."

Remember Me?
Hey, remember me? The one who made it her goal to blog more often? Well, I've dusted off my computer and I'm back again! Life has certainly kept me extremely busy since last I posted. Aww, it feels good to free write again! Allow me to update you. The new semester started in January; fresh and bright. Gotta love a clean slate. I love a new school year; freshly sharpened pencils, new classes and friends, and lots of homework. Well not so much that last one... This semester my classes include: Math 97 (don't judge me), geography, foundations of learning, English 201, and psychology. I arranged my schedule so differently this semester than I ever had in the past. I have all my classes back-to-back Monday, Wednesday, Friday, starting at 8:50 am to 2:30 pm; each class being an hour long. I kinda like it that way; why didn't I think of it before? I like having one class right after the other, instead of spread out. I still have the same calling in my ward, and I absolutely love it! It certainly keeps me busy and I love the sisters in my ward so very dearly. I am learning all the time and I wish that I could do more... Well, those things you knew about. So whats new? I am now a working and going to school girl. That's right, I got a job! Before Christmas break, I applied for several jobs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the break, I was called and asked to meet for an interview for one of the jobs. When I came back to Utah for school, I was interviewed and then required to take a computer skills test. My computer had several technical difficulties which delayed the whole process, however, I was blessed with part time employment for the church. I love working for LDS Family Services and it has been such a great blessing in my life to be employed so quickly, and at this time in my life. I started in the beginning of February and I work about 19 hours a week. Last week marked my four month anniversary of dating my boyfriend. He is such a wonderful part of my life and I enjoy my time spent with him very much. He means a great deal to me. My sister will be having a baby in September! This is very exciting news for our family; this baby will be the first grand baby on our side of the family. I'm an aunt! We are excited about this little blessing in our lives. My younger brother puts in his mission papers in TODAY!! I am so excited for him; he should get his call in two weeks or so. I can hardly believe my little brother is all grown up and will be serving a full time mission. My younger sisters are great. I love the videos my dad sends me of their orchestra concerts; they really make me happy. My older brother is someone to be proud of. I'm grateful for his example of hard work, patience, and his good example when it comes to dating. I really appreciate it. The same goes for my oldest sister. What would I do without her? She is always there for me and always knows just what to say. She and her husband are incredible examples to me of what a good marriage should be like. (Both of my married sisters are wonderful examples of that) and I am very fond of and look up to both of my brothers-in-law. My family members are all examples of the believers to me and I'm grateful that I got lucky enough to be with them. I need them. I will be graduating from LDS Business College in the next few weeks when school gets out! I am very excited. Seems like only yesterday I was first up here visiting the college! I will have to take classes over the summer to finish up a few credits, but I will be walking very soon. I get out of school on April 13th and graduation will be the following day. I'm very excited that my mother will be flying out for my graduation. I'm also excited that my sisters and Jr (the baby) will be coming as well. Allow me to share a few personal thoughts. This is such an important time in my life, what an amazing year this will be. I am finishing up and graduating from college, working and preparing to serve a mission, and dating the love of my life. I plan to walk in April, take a summer semester that starts in June and ends in mid August (then I will be officially done), start my mission papers in August and completely submit them by September 1st, work until I turn 21 in December, and hopefully be off on a mission by January or February of 2012. I hope to be a great missionary; I have always dreamed of it. I can hardly wait to be out as a missionary, and then return to my family and my sweetheart. It's not too far away. Just five short months until I can begin the process of putting my papers together, and then another five after that and I'll be wearing a tag for eighteen months serving the Lord somewhere in this world where He needs me to be. I'm pretty sure that's the plan. I feel like the Lord will trust my decisions and I know that He will direct my path. Whatever I choose, He will support me. If I make a wrong choice, I know that he will redirect me for good. These are the things of my life, the things that I am going through now - at least this is the very surface of my feelings. Life is busy and often times filled with difficult decisions and stress, but coversely very happy! Very happy indeed. I have often reflectd on my life a year ago and I am so much happier now than I was then; I have come a long ways and I plan to continue onward a long ways. I am so happy! Happier then I have been in a long time. I have so much going on, but I have so many blessings and so much to be grateful for.

Stepping Stones
I can hardly believe how fast time goes. Time is such a wonderful gift, along with agency. We live in a world where a brand new start happens every single day, not just at the new year. We have thousands of choices, big and small, of how we are going to spend this time - this precious time given to us.
I've been thinking a lot about goals and new years resolutions. January comes and most people review and reflect on their past year. They desire change and resolve to do better during the course of the coming year. Hence the 'new year's resolution' tradition. Our motivation is strong throughout January and February, and perhaps March. Excuses are made in April and May and perhaps forgotten about by June and July. By December I'm sure we don't even remember what we had resolved to do in the first place.
I suppose it depends on the goal and how motivated we are.
How can we stay motivated throughout the year? How can we make our goals into good habits that stay in place all year round?
I propose that first we need to have a good attitude. Be positive! We have a brand new year a head, full of promise, full of hope, full of change, and full of good - if you choose.
Instead of first creating a list of things you want to do, make a list of things you want to change. What bad habits have you formed throughout the year? What things stand in your way of becoming what you desire? What are you filling your time with that can be eliminated?
Then replace them! Replace the bad habits with a good habit.
We all have big goals, and hey, why not? Dream big! Your potential is endless. However, that is how we burn out our motivation so quickly.
Dream big, but plan small.
It's ok to set smaller goals first. Take smaller steps. Progress. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Don't run farther than you have strength. Don't create such a massive goal that will end up being more of a massive problem.
Don't disappoint yourself.
What smaller goals can I set for myself that will help me to reach my ultimate goal?
How will I keep myself motivated?
Will I keep a chart? Will I track my progress? Will I have a friend keep me in check?
I think writing things down, posting it where you can always see it, making yourself fully accountable, and perhaps sharing your goal with a friend who is going to help you become what you seek, are going to be the best ways to help you stay motivated.
1. Stay Positive
2. Stay Motivated
What is going to work for you?
I hope that 2011 will be a year to remember, not just for the good times, but also for the things that we will learn about ourselves, those around us, and the world around us.
And as we seek to obtain our fullest potential through making it across these stepping stones call goals.

A Brand New Year
I woke up one morning a few days ago to my sister telling me "Score! You have made it to one score!"
Me: "What are you talking about?"
"One score means twenty years silly."
I knew that.
What do you know? I went to bed last night a teenager and woke up in my twenties.
My back is sore just thinking about it. I'm old.
What a great day though. Lovely breakfast of chocolate chip waffles (my favorite) and then mostly relaxing and running a few errands here and there.
And did I mention the lovely surprise of roses delivered to me? They sure are lovely..
Spaghetti for dinner and chocolate, chocolate chip cupcakes with cream cheese filling were definitely on the menu.
I made a wish and blew out my white candle on my cute, delicious cupcake.
We always have cupcakes on my birthday.
That's what I love about a December birthday, you are already home for Christmas so you get a bonus. Birthday spent with the family? Heck ya.
Lets see what else have I been up to...
I helped my little brother apply for college.
*sniff* my widdle brother is going to college... maybe he will go to LDS Business College with me in the summer! That would be fun...
I went for a bike ride today.
Ah you would love Texas in December...
I wore a jacket, although one wasn't needed.
Kicked the stand up. Brushed the old seat off. Gripped the handle bars. On my way.
I adjusted the gears as I peddled down the street.
It was everything a bike ride should be.
Breezy, but not windy.
Warm, but shady.
Peaceful, but not silent.
Long, but not exhausting.
Scenic, but still in the same old neighborhood.
I need to do that more often.
I love being home. Not much to do, but when you crawl into bed at night and think through your day you say 'hey, I did some pretty fun stuff today.'
I painted my sister's nails with the color of their choice and painted their faces blue with a face mask I had brought home.
Family movies and games.
Shopping and running errands with mom.
Reading books.
StarCraft with my younger brother. (Don't judge me)
Playing the piano. (Oh piano, how I have missed you!)
My sister plays the viola and my youngest sister is just learning to play the violin. I played the violin for eight years and finally gave her my violin to use. They both put on a little performance for me accompanied by mom on the piano. They play well.
Picture taking for sure is always a must.
I can't believe I forgot my swim suit! Ah! What are we going to do on New Years day?!
I have also been working on things for my calling for when I get back to Utah.
I received a scholarship! I have truly been blessed! I also received a response about a job I applied for; pray for me!
I have reflected on my past year. Wow this was certainly a year to remember; both the very best of memories yet, and some of the worst and troublesome times. My year has been filled with difficult decisions and tears of frustration. Struggle is a part of life, the Lord allows us to struggle so that we can learn to rely on him and build stronger faith.
I have learned so much about children as I worked over the summer. I can't wait to be a mother some day..
I've learned about fathers: about the kind of father that I have and the kind of father figure I want in my future home.
I have learned much through my schooling, many subjects that I have both enjoyed and endured trough.
I have learned to try new things and explore; breaking out of my shell a little here and there. New friends make for new experiences, as well as new choices.
My calling has certainly taught me more than words can ever describe. I can only hope to become better over the next semester and more diligent. I want to reach my fullest potential, and that means putting in my full effort.
My year has also been full of wonderful and happy memories. My sister was married! My best-sister. I haven't lost a sister though, I have gained a brother. What a wonderful example he is and what a wonderful example she continues to be for me.
New friendships have been made, and the old friendships stay ever stronger.
I feel like I have learned so much about myself: about the kind of person that I am, that I tend to be, that I want to be, and how to become what I seek.
I have learned how to think. I have learned how to trust again, I have learned how to love again, though love was never really lost. I have learned that there is still so much to learn and much more to experience.
This new year is full of so much promise, so long as I make the right choices. How will I spend my time? How will I become what I dream?
Each day is the promise of a new start, not just at the beginning of a new year.
I am full of hope and it makes me feel happy.
So much can happen in a year.

God Bless Us, Everyone
I love the Christmas season for many reasons. As much as we all try to "keep Christmas in our hearts all year round", I love the 'separation' of the holiday from the rest of the year. I love setting aside the time to remember the true meaning of Christmas. It makes the meaning more special. It makes the season more meaningful.
I love the Christmas season; I love the anticipation of Christmas more so than the day itself. What I mean is, I love the preparation.
I love getting ready for Christmas. The Christmas shopping, the wrapping, the hurrying and scurrying, and the laughs and smiles on every one's faces. It really is fun!
I love listening to Christmas music in the month of December. I love listening to the poetic words to the music, and the melodies are just enchanting. I love listening to Christmas music only in the month of December, because it's that more special for me. I love setting aside this special music for only this time of year.
I love listening to carolers, I also love singing around the house to a variety of different Christmas tunes.
As Buddy the Elf would say; "The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is to sing loud for all to hear." I sure love to sing.
I love family Christmas traditions.
I love reading the same books, the ones that we save for the wintry months.
I love the same Christmas decorations in the same places, I love the consistency.
I love taking family drives to look at Christmas lights, I love cooking in the kitchen, and the chilly weather always puts a smile on my face.
Even though I'm in Texas, it's still fun to bundle up with my family and watch "It's a wonderful life", "White Christmas", "Charlie Brown Christmas" or other fun classics.
It has been fun for me to spend the Christmas season with my family. I have reflected on my past memories with them and thought of future Christmases yet to come. It's been different since some of my siblings are now married or living on their own. I have thought to myself , 'where have I been?' And 'where will I be in the next few years?'
I also have reflected on the life of my Savior, Jesus Christ. The gift from our Heavenly Father to us, the gift of his Son Jesus Christ: his humble birth, his perfect life and example, and his atonement. I am grateful for the birth of the Savior, and this time of year that is set aside to remember him and his gift to us.
As much as I love the 'Christmas rush', the laughter, and bright memories, it is also a time to be peaceful, to be still. It is a time to ponder and to read about the Savior, and to be still and reflective.
Christmas only comes once a year, and I like to make sure it's a special time.

I Forgot My Swimsuit!
I am loving all this warm weather all ready!
As Kenny Chesney would say; "Ooooo, don't you think it's a pretty good plan? All I want for Christmas is a real good tan..."
I completely forgot to pack my swimsuit! It was 80 degrees today...
I got up early this morning; today was mom's birthday! We all ate a nice breakfast together and got ready for the day.
I worked on my blog for a little bit today (hope you're proud of me)
I ran a few errands with my parents and my youngest sister today. Our first stop was over at T-Mobile.
If you have seen my phone you would know why.
My phone is pretty much ancient. When I showed my phone to the guy who worked there, I could tell it took all his energy not to laugh.
I checked out a few different phones, I didn't want anything fancy. There were so many that had features that were interesting, but realistically I couldn't see myself using... I narrowed down my choices, but I still needed to think it over.
We ran a few other Christmas errands here and there...
We came back home and had mom's favorite meal and dessert - of course, mom's specialty trifle.
I was completely surprised when we didn't watch 'It's A Wonderful Life' this year for her birthday, I have many, many memories of watching that movie every single year on her birthday.
This year, we watched 'A Christmas Carol.' What a great classic.
I certainly love Christmas home in Texas. I love wearing short-sleeved shirts :)
My siblings had a surprise for me when I came home yesterday; they put red and green light bulbs in the guest bathroom.. haha
The house looks great too, I'm sure mom put everyone to work to make sure the house was clean as a whistle and decorated for Christmas.
The kids here have been begging me to whistle and show them pictures as well, it's been fun to see them again. My youngest sister is so tall! Almost as tall as me...

I'll Be Home For Christmas
I am finally home in Texas!! Again, sorry, let me catch you up on these last few days. I think while I am home on vacation, I'll probably have more time to write daily.
On Sunday, I got up early and put together a slow cooker meal for later and got ready for the day. I attended my ward council meeting and other church meetings. We had a small group today; I think most everyone is gone for the holidays and the next few weeks will be the same.
After church, my boyfriend came over and we ate dinner and exchanged Christmas gifts. My mom called me and we coordinated a few things for my flight the following day.
Then my boyfriend and I worked on one of the value experiences from the young women's booklet 'Virtue' Our bishop had encouraged us to finish the booklet this semester.
Then we watched a movie and talked for a while, and then he went home. I'm sure going to miss him while I am home in Texas...
Afterwards, I finished up the rest of my laundry and went to bed on the early side.
Monday I got up bright and early and got myself ready for the airport.
I finished packing, put all my clean laundry away, paid my rent, and finished up the last few other things before I left. My sister came to pick me up and she took me to the airport.
I checked my bags and made it through security - for once - without any problems. All airports have all new security systems and the 'full body scan' wasn't my favorite part of the trip - to say the least. It was pretty awkward, but I made it through.
The plane was small, but I sat next to a very nice, middle-aged man who chatted with me the whole way. I usually don't like talking to other people while I'm on the plane, but he was so genuinely interesting and kind, I found him pleasant to talk to. He asked a lot about my church and it was a good experience to talk to him about a few things and answer his questions.
Even when we got off the plane we chatted all the way to baggage claim.
After I got my bags, I met my family outside. Wow, the air just smells different in Texas, so good! It was warm too when I came off the plane! I had to take my jacket off!
My family was happy to see me, as I was also happy to see them.
I had cut my hair about a month ago, and I didn't tell them about it (except my dad) So it was a fun surprise. Fun to see their reactions... especially my mom's :)
We came home and ate together - spaghetti, my favorite. :)
We watched a movie - of which I completely fell asleep through the entire thing. :)
Ah it's just good to be home... home for Christmas

Almost There...
School is finally out!! Yay!!
Allow me to (again) catch you up on what I have been up to these past few days.
This was the last week of school. Wednesday I didn't have any classes until 4pm. It was nice to have the whole day to work on my assignments.
I got up early and got myself ready for the day. I got to the school in time to meet with my public speaking group at 10am. We practiced our speech with our slide show presentation together and made note cards for our presentation. Afterwards, I talked to my math teacher about any other assignments that I needed to do.
I finished my tests online a long time ago, so I didn't have to go to class any more. However, I received an email informing that me that I had other tests still to finish.
I pretty much panicked.
I thought I had been done, but apparently there were still tests that I had to do. I went in and talked to my teacher, and he told me that I had finished the ones that he had assigned, so I was fine.
Whew!
All I had to do was finish the post test so that wasn't a big deal.
I worked on my sociology paper all day long.
It was taking me forever to do! The paper can be as long as I would like it to be, and I wanted to make sure it was perfect.
At 4, I went to my last sociology class! The last group gave their presentation, and our teacher gave his final thoughts. I just absolutely love that class, I am going to miss this particular group of students. I will be taking another class next semester from the same teacher, so I'm excited.
I don't remember what I did after my class...
Well, on Thursday, I got up early and went to my last class for the semester: public speaking. My group and I gave our presentation, which we got a perfect score on so I was happy. (I think everyone got a perfect score though... haha)
Then I had the whole day to finish my sociology paper and email it to my teacher, and then do my final post math test.
Funny story of the day:
I was in the computer lab with one of my roommates sitting next to me, and my other roommate behind me. We were all busy working on our final projects. I was completely absorbed in what I was doing when a think piece of paper slid past my key board.
It took me by surprise. I looked down from my computer screen and saw a note addressed to "You"
I quickly looked behind me and saw a guy with a coat on walking away quickly. I couldn't see who it was because his collar was popped up. I looked back at the note and then up at my roommates. They both gave me a confused, yet intrigued look.
I flipped the note around and there was a wax seal on the front, keeping the note completely closed. I opened the note and read a super funny 'secret admirer' letter. Some guy had been 'spell bound' by me and wanted me to call him if I wanted to be treated to a date. His number was enclosed. 'Just ask for Edward, the ball is in your court.'
Oh. My. Heck.
I allowed my roommates to read the message and we all laughed so hard. It was creative, yet very creepy to me all the same time.
It was the story of the day; it certainly made us all laugh.
I finally finished my paper and emailed it to my teacher.
FREE!!
I stayed at the school for a while and talked with a few friends until my boyfriend got off work. We met up and went to the Temple together. It was a nice way to end the semester. :)
Afterwards, we took the trax back to his house and hung out only for a few minutes. My roommates came to pick me up and we went out for the night.
I'll give details later...
I came home and worked on Christmas gifts and watched 'Pride and Prejudice' with my roommate.
Friday morning was our Relief Society activity. I got up early and my roommate and I made breakfast and got everything ready. We only had one other girl show up, but it was super fun to talk with her. Plus we have lots of leftovers :) I figure there were lots of girls who either slept in or were getting ready to go home...
I got myself ready for the day and headed to the school. I sold back my textbooks and then got up to a computer and looked for a job. I applied for a few places...
Then I came home and later my boyfriend came over and we took trax down to Temple Square. We met up with my sister and brother-in-law and went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert with David Archuleta. It was a great concert and it was super nice to see my sister again :)
We came back to my apartment and exchanged a few gifts; this year I am giving to my sister and she also had a few things for me to take home with me.
After they left, my boyfriend and I went back to his house so that he could change, and then we went with a friend to another friend's house to watch a movie.
Today I got up early and went to our ward's Temple day. I took the waffle maker that I had borrowed back over to my boyfriend's house and then went back home.
I came home and cleaned my bathroom, did my laundry, and packed things up for going home. I spent the afternoon organizing, packing, and cleaning.
Tonight I went on a date. My boyfriend and I went ice skating at an out door skating place. I had a blast, I love ice skating! Neither of us fell *whew*
Afterwards we took the Sandy train all the way to the end of the line. We got off at the very last stop, got hot chocolate, and rode the trax all the way back. It was really fun actually; we talked the whole way there and back about our Christmas traditions and other things...
Long ride, long conversation, hot hot chocolate, and amazing company. How much better can it get?
We came back to his house and watched part of a movie and then I took the trax home.

Forgive Me?
It has certainly been too long. I promise that I will be better about blogging.
Forgive me?
The life of a college student in the middle of finals week can most definitely be hectic. Let me catch you up a bit.
Saturday December 4th: I had such a great day. I got up early despite the fact that I had gone to bed way too late the night before and despite my warm bed that begged me to stay longer. I got up and went to the school to meet with my public speaking group for our service project. We all drove down and went to the Bishop's Storehouse on Welfare Square to give service. However, because it was a Saturday morning, they were completely full of volunteers. They sent us over to the D.I. next door where we gave service over there. It was super fun. Later that night I went with a few friends and my roommates to a hockey game in Provo. BYU vs. Weber. Yeah BYU won. It's ok to be jealous. I had never been to a hockey game before; it was super fun. Afterwards, we went out to eat at In-N-Out burger. I had never been there before either! It was super good, I enjoyed the experience. Over all a very great day, I think we might have come back and watched a movie..
Sunday December 5th: I had a wonderful day. I went to church and my other meetings and afterwards we had our ward linger-longer. After linger-longer, my boyfriend and I went to stand in the stand-by line for the First Presidency Christmas devotional. It was a huge line, it took forever, it was freezing cold, but I wouldn't have wanted to be there with any one else. :) Once we made it up to the conference center, a friend came up to us and offered us his two extra tickets. We certainly always get lucky! It was a wonderful devotional, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to live here in Salt Lake and to be so close. I'm grateful for all the many blessings I have of living in this country where I have so many opportunities, like a good education here at a church school...
Monday December 6th: Lets see, we had a really fun family home evening that night. Our ward combined with another ward in our stake to listen to a relationship coach. She was an interesting speaker to say the least, however, she made some very interesting and key points that were good to learn. She talked about the difference between the way men and women think. Afterwards we enjoyed hot chocolate and ice cream, and of course each other's warm spirits and good company. I enjoy the cold weather only for one reason. I love bundling up, drinking hot chocolate, and enjoying myself with good company.
Tuesday December 7th: Hmmm... I went to my classes and stayed at the school to work on homework. Later that evening my roommate and I did our visiting teaching...that is all I can remember to be honest...
Wednesday December 8th: I slept in and I went to my business communications class. All we have to do for the next couple days is listen to our fellow classmates give their oral presentations. I worked on my sociology paper for a couple of hours and then I went to my sociology class and again listened to our fellow classmates give their presentations. After class I said hi to my boyfriend before he went to class and then I went home with my roommate. We went grocery shopping together and then worked on homework...
Thursday December 9th: Well, I got up early and went to my classes. I'll be glad when it's my turn to give my oral presentations. I had public speaking, Doctrine and Covenants and then mission prep. I probably stayed at the school to work on more homework...
This is the problem when I don't write every day, I can't remember everything...
Friday December 10th: I slept in and went to my only class for the day; business communications. I gave my oral presentation (finally!) and I got an A so I'm really happy about that. :) After class, I had a conference with my teacher, and she went over my final paper with me and suggested a few changes. When I was done, I went to the Temple with my ward. It was raining out side, so it was fun to pull out my umbrella. I love rain! :) Afterwards, I came home and showered. My boyfriend came to meet me and we went to a school concert. A guy from our school put on a Christmas concert, and he sings very well. He sounds almost like Josh Groban I would say, only not as good :) No one can really compare with Josh. Afterwards, we ran to catch the trax, and out of breath we rode back to his house. We met up with a few friends and his roommates and we went to TCBY. Yumm... then we went back to his place and talked and watched a movie. Such a great night; I love long conversations with my boyfriend. I walked home in the rain, but with a smile on my face.
Saturday December 11th: I was up early once again and at the school with my public speaking group. We worked on our group speech and PowerPoint, and were able to get a lot accomplished. Afterwards, I went home and met up with my roommate. My roommate and I spent the afternoon together; it was really fun to walk around the Gateway and to spend time with her. I always have fun with her :) Later I met up with my boyfriend at the school. Us, along with dozens of others were also at the school. An improv group from our school organized this 'activity.' We paired off after planning and staging things precisely. We went to Temple square and either proposed or were proposed to within minutes of each other. It was a super fun experience! There are so many people on Temple Square this time of year to see the lights, so it was packed full of people. My boyfriend 'proposed' to me and several people around us congratulated us. It was super funny. Afterwards, we went back to my apartment and had hot chocolate and then we were off to our friend's Christmas party. Fun games and treats, and definitely great company. I have such great friends; what a blessing.
Sunday December 12th: I got up early and went to my church meetings. I love a good, productive meeting. After church, my roommate and I did our visiting teaching, and then my other roommate and I had our visit from our home teachers. WOW! I have never had home teachers visit me ever since I have been at the Business College! It was super great :) I went home with my roommate. Later I went to ward prayer, and then home again...
Monday December 13th: Yesterday, I slept in and went to my one class for the day. Yay! And now I don't have to go to that class ever again! :) I stayed at the school until 4:30ish working on homework, and then I went home. Family home evening was fun, we tied fleece blankets to give to the children's hospital. After FHE, I went with my friend from the Relief Society to Walmart to pick up a few things for our upcoming activity this week. I also picked up a few groceries. Then I went home and worked on my speech that I had to give today.
TODAY December 14th: I got up early this morning and got dressed up and ready for the day. I went to my first class for the day; public speaking. I gave my persuasive speech, which I got a good grade on, so I'm happy. I feel like I did pretty well. Then I helped a friend with an assignment in the computer lab and then worked on my sociology paper. It's about nine pages now, but I'm not even half way done... Then I went to my Doctrine and Covenants class; last one for the semester! And after that was my mission prep class which was also my last class for the semester! I went home with my roommate and started working on my blog while the cake I made was in the oven. Tonight, my roommate and I are celebrating our birthdays together and having a party at our place. Should be fun.
Well, that's all I can remember and I promise I will be better about my blogging. Finals week is the busiest, and I bet I am going to have a lot of time on my hands over the Christmas break. I'm really excited to go home to Texas for Christmas!
Forgive me?

Birthday
Today is my roommate's birthday! I got up early this morning and made cinnamon rolls for my roommates and because it was my roommate's birthday. We all got ready for the day and went to the school.
So remember that paper I worked on that I thought was due today?
Yeah my paper not due for another week or so.
...
Well, I'm glad it's done, and at least it gives me a little more time to make sure it is my best work.
I only had one class today; my business communications class. We just had a few people present their oral presentations based off our papers that we have been writing.
I have to give my oral presentation next week, and then my paper is due the following Monday. I'm actually kinda excited about putting together this presentation; I'm glad that I choose to take a public speaking class along side with this business communications class. I feel like I have been able to use the skills that I learn in both classes when I put together papers, projects or speeches for both classes.
After class, I went home and ate and then I met up with my boyfriend and we went for a walk up to the capital. He got off work early today :) I have been up there a few times, but I had never been inside before. It was a pleasant walk; not too long or too short, and it wasn't too cold out.
The door was unlocked, so we stepped inside.
Wow what a beautiful, beautiful building! Beautiful marble floors and walls, extremely detailed crown molding, dark, polished wood, breath-taking paintings on the ceiling all the way up; you had to lean your head backwards a ways to see it all, and right when we walked in, there was a choir that had just began singing Christmas songs!
We always get lucky :)
We walked around inside for a bit and admired the exquisite details all around. We ran into a man who told us a bit about the building and that was neat.
We counted the stairs all the way down to the parking lot, (57 I think?) and took the trax back to my apartment.
This evening, a group of our friends took my roommate out for her birthday. We went out to eat at Red Robbin, and then we went bowling. I had a blast; I love bowling.
We came back to our apartment and had ice cream while we sang our hearts out with karaoke. Then we put on her favorite movie; Nacho Libre :)
Ah, what a wonderful day. :)
So remember that paper I worked on that I thought was due today?
Yeah my paper not due for another week or so.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Well finals week is most certainly not the most wonderful time of the year, however there is still much to be grateful and happy for.
Today is Thursday. I had an interesting beginning to my day in my first class; public speaking. Today we had to give a speech however, we all came into class unaware of our topics.
You got it, no preparation. Improv speech day.
We all had to draw a subject from a basket and when we were called up we were to give a speech on our topic. Of course you had to have a catchy introduction, followed by two to three main points with examples, a review of the points, and a well rounded conclusion.
On the spot.
Yikes.
So my topic that I drew was "An Object."
It was a pretty broad subject; I could talk about any object I wanted to. I thought of things that I use on a regular basis and how I start with a catchy beginning.
I ended up talking about my camera; how it has helped me develop my talents and how much photography is apart of my life.
After class, I spent an hour or two in the library working on my business communications paper. I went to my Doctrine and Covenants class followed by my mission prep class.
We had a really amazing lesson in my mission prep class about the priesthood line and the importance of having the right authority. I learned so much today; I do not wish to get too personal here on my blog, but let me just say that it was incredible for me.
After class I went back up to the computer lab to work on my paper. I worked on it for a couple of hours actually; I was determined not to leave until I was done. I finished it, except for a few changes in the margin settings which I didn't know how to do, but my friend said he would edit it for me and fix it.
I'm glad I have great fiends who are willing to help me out with my homework. I came home a bit later than usual and worked on my homework with my boyfriend and a few friends.
I am so glad I have that paper done! It is such a huge part of my grade and my teacher is rather particular about the way that it is done...wish me luck.
I'll be glad when finals and such are done...
Ah gotta love this; the most wonderful time of the year...

On the First Day of December
I just love the month of December for a number of reasons. Of course there is Christmas and birthdays (including my own), as well as tons of snow and wet socks.
I love so many things. As you walk out the door and take that first icy breath of fresh air and you shiver from head to toe, wondering if you should go back to bed or grab an extra scarf and endure.
You purposefully breath hard because it's fun to see your breath and you tend to walk a little faster everywhere you go; avoiding puddles and large piles of snow.
Your ears and fingers freeze easily and your pockets aren't good enough sometimes. Your nose and cheeks turn red, but despite the cold, there is a smile on your face. Always something to be happy about, always someone on your mind.
As you walk around you start to notice, of course, the Christmas lights that brightly decorate homes and businesses. Colored lights and white lights are all alike very beautiful.
In the car, Christmas music fill the car and you remember the songs that you haven't listened to since last December. Memories fill your mind of family and the good times from all year around. You miss them, but look forward to seeing them soon.
But not only because Christmas is just around the corner, there just seems to be a different, special feel to this month. You seem happier and more grateful. You serve others and spend time together with friends frequently. Oh how grateful I am for my friends.
Playing games and going out is fun, as well as squishing together with blankets and ice cream while watching a movie together.
Yes your socks get wet all the time, yes you have to wear three layers in order to not turn into a Popsicle, yes you have to mop the floor frequently from the snow that gets tracked in. But yes it's worth it all.
All of these things and more am I ever so grateful for.

Last Days in November
Fridays are the best, especially when spent with your family. I slept in and got myself ready for the day. I love being at my sister's house, she really has a special spirit in her home. I am grateful for her constant and genuine kindness and for her example to me.
My sister and brother-in-law came over and we decorated my sister's apartment with Christmas decorations, listened to Christmas music, and ate left overs from Thanksgiving.
Best part about the day after Thanksgiving: Left overs and Christmas music :)
We played some games and we watched a movie late into the night. I love spending time with my family, they lift me up and I always feel better about myself when I am with them.
Saturday morning I got up bright and early and packed up my things. My sister drove me to the trax station on the way to work and we said our goodbyes. I'll see her soon enough, I told myself.
I took the trax to my stop and walked home through the snow.
I came home to a pleasant surprise waiting for me. There was a rose and a note on my desk! My friend wanted to go out with me that evening; I called him up and said yes.
I did my homework and slept during the afternoon. I also caught up on some laundry, unpacking, and cleaning.
That evening, my friend and I went to Temple Square to see the lights. They are so beautiful! It was fun to see the temple grounds so crowded, cheerful, and lit up. The lights were beautiful, and the children and families made me laugh. We walked around in the North visitors center and when we came back out and towards the tabernacle, someone offered us tickets to see a concert right then at the tabernacle! Sweet. It was a really long concert, but it was cute. I love Christmas music.
When the concert was over, we went back to his house and had hot chocolate and watched a movie with his roommates and friends. I had a really fun time; I enjoy spending my time with him.
Sunday was my dad's birthday! I just love my dad, he is someone that I can always turn to and someone I feel like I have a special relationship with. I want to marry someone like my dad. I could go on and on about him, but I don't wish to get too personal.
Sunday was certainly a day to remember. There was so much snow on the ground when I woke up and it was still snowing on top of that! I got up and got ready for my church meetings and walked out the door in my heals.
So this is kinda embarrassing so don't laugh at me.
I walked about half way to the trax station and decided that it would probably be a better idea if I had my boots on instead.
What a concept.
I walked back home and pretty much turned my whole apartment up-side-down looking for my boots but only in vain; I could not find them anywhere!
I was so frustrated, especially because I was now late for my meeting. My roommate was nice enough however to allow me to borrow hers.
Well now I guess it's an excuse to go shoe shopping this week if I cannot find them. haha.
I got to the school and still had a good, productive, and inspiring set of meetings.
After church, my friends and I stayed after for ward choir.
"I just wanna sing!" :)
A bunch of us piled into a car and drove back to our friend's apartment and ate together. We then bundled up again and squeezed two more people in with us back to the school for ward prayer.
Good thing I like the guy I was squished up next to :)
Ward prayer was nice as usual, and then we drove back to my apartment again. My boyfriend and I made brownies and watched the movie 'Music and Lyrics' together, and then my roommates and a few others joined us and we watched 'Elf.'
Good times.
Monday morning I slept in and then went to my only class for the day. After class, I stayed at the school and worked on homework in the library. Our stake center is a block away from the school and the ward council members needed to be there early for our FHE that night, so I thought I would use my time better studying in the library and then just walk over, as opposed to going back home and then coming all the way back.
Family home evening tonight was a holiday dinner. You can only imagine the turn out at FHE when there is food involved haha.
After FHE, we came back to our apartment. We had a few friends over and worked a bit on homework and had a lot of laughs.
Tuesday I had to get up early. I love getting up early! I gave a speech in my public speaking class. It was a pretty easy speech, we had to do a 60 second sales speech. My speech was trying to persuade people to give service at the bishop's storehouse. It was right on time too; exactly 60 seconds. Boo-ya.
We didn't have a devotional, so I had lunch with a few friends and then my roommate and I went to our Doctrine and Covenants class. I worked on some things in the computer lab and then went to my last class for the day; mission prep.
We had two elders join our class and we could ask them any questions that we had. We had a very interesting discussion; I sure love missionary work and I definitely want to serve a mission some day. :)
I stayed at the school again and worked on some homework with a friend in the library until my boyfriend came to the school. We went to his religion class with him. Such a good class!
Afterwards, we went to the temple together and we were able to do some of his family names. Very special indeed.
He had to go to class and I headed home. My roommate and I did some grocery shopping and made our typical Sonic run :)
Then we just came home and put everything away and worked on homework.
Ah homework seems to be a continuous theme throughout this post... Well it is the last couple weeks of school.
I had a great weekend! I am happy!

Together
Happy Thanksgivin' Ya'll :)
I slept in a bit this morning and got myself ready for the day. Around 10:30-11am my older sister, her husband, and my older brother came over! The six of us all ate breakfast together. It felt so good to be with them. I just admire every one of my older siblings and my brothers-in-law. I'm grateful for the kind of people that they are and their examples to me.
We cooked and baked again this afternoon with football going on in the background.
Boys...
We laughed, shared memories, and expressed gratitude for one another and simply enjoyed one another's company all day long. :) I love them. I love having a big family, I wish all of my family could be together...
While we waited for certain things to cook, we played games and created more fun memories.
We prayed together, ate together, expressed gratitude together, cleaned the kitchen together, fell asleep on the couch (at least I know I did).
We watched a movie together. We watched "Star Wars 5" I love that series.
After the movie, we ate pie and other desert.
Gosh, I don't think I will be able to eat again for a while... :)
We played a card game together (of which I won four times in a row :)) and talked to our parents on the phone with the phone on speaker.
What a wonderful, wonderful day today has been.
I am so grateful for so many things. I love to reflect on the many blessings I enjoy and that the Lord continues to bless me with.
I said goodbye to my older sister and her husband; I think they will be coming over again tomorrow, but my goodbye to my older brother was a little more difficult because I don't know when I will see him next.
I sure love my family and I will always cherish my memories with them. I'm grateful we could spend the day together.

My Sisters and I
I love spending time with my older sisters! I wish I could see them more often.
Today I slept in for a bit and then finished packing up my things. I had been looking forward to spending these next couple days with my family for a long time.
After trudging through 5-6 inches of snow from yesterday's blizzard, I hopped on trax and rode the Sandy train all the way till the end of the line. My sister came and picked me up and I was so excited to see her.
We came back to her place, and later my other older sister came over as well.
The three of us baked and talked all day pretty much. I had so much fun with them :)
I look up to them so much; I love them so much. They are such great examples to me and I want to be like them. I appreciate the kind of women that they are in their personalities, speech, dress, and the kind of young men they have chosen to marry. I always feel so uplifted especially when I am with these two. They understand my humor :) and they always make me smile as well.
We shared memories of our childhood as well as tips when cooking and baking certain things.
I loved it.
One of my sisters and her husband left early in the evening, so my other sister and her husband, my brother-in-law's brother, and myself went to go see a movie. We went to see the movie 'Tangled."
It was pretty cute.
Ah... Now I am exhausted. I think I'll call it a night. I am super excited for tomorrow :)

Blizzard
Today was perfect. I got up early this morning and got my self ready for school. A light sheet of snow covered the ground as I walked slowly through it in my heals.
Today was devotional day at the school, so I dressed up. Today was actually our last devotional day for the semester.
Once I got to the school, I checked my email and discovered that all of my classes had been canceled, except for my last class. I had decided to skip my last class in order to go to the airport with my roommate.
So I went to the computer lab and worked on some homework. I finished my last math test and passed it, so that means I get to sleep in on Mondays and Wednesdays from now on :)
I went to the devotional; which was most excellent. The speaker spoke about how to gain and maintain confidence through good study and sleep habits. Well spoken.
After the devotional, I met up with a few friends and we went out to lunch and then we went to the Temple. It was a really nice experience for me, I love serving there.
I came home, showered, and painted my nails with my roommates while watching 'The Office' (a show I do not typically watch.)
My roommate's flight had been canceled, so we all hung out together.
Fact about me: I don't watch TV very much; I love movies, but I'm just not a TV person...
Another fact about me: When ever I paint my nails, it usually doesn't stay on for very long before I take it off. haha I'm not a nail polish person either.
There was a huge blizzard that came through tonight. One of my good friends came over; walking through the door completely covered in snow.
After brushing all the snow off, two of my roommates, my friend, and I all watched the movie 'The 6th Sense."
Good movie.
Fact about me: I am not a fan of scary movies, however, this is one I do enjoy watching.
Probably because I am use to it...
When the movie was over, my roommates wanted to go play in the snow. My friend and I however, were perfectly content with staying inside where we could enjoy the snow from the window.
We made soup in the kitchen; dancing while waiting for the noodles to boil...
When my roommates came back in, we ate and then my friend and I pulled our coats on and walked through the snow over to a friend's apartment.
I do love fresh snow. It is so beautiful!
Too bad it's cold and wet, or else I would like it a bit better...
We had fun socializing with a few of our friends over there, and then he walked me home.
My roommates and I cleaned up and packed our things a bit for tomorrow. We are all leaving to visit with family and friends for Thanksgiving; I am so grateful I get to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year. :)

Too Early For Christmas Movies!
I am so glad that this will be a short week of school! My Monday just got that much better knowing that I only have classes today and tomorrow, and then Thanksgiving break here I come!
Only a matter of time until you can REALLY listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas movies.
My rule is no Christmas stuff until AFTER Thanksgiving.
Well, I slept in this morning and I did not go to my math class again. I figured out that if I finish my last math test and if I pass it, I don't have to go to class any more. So I got up later and got ready for the day.
The snow was still on my front door step (and every where else to be quite frank) but I still made it to school on time. I came to the school and studied a bit and then I went to my business communications class.
After my class was over, my roommate had waited for me so we went out to lunch together at Costa Vida.
Oh Costa Vida, it had been too long.
Yumm.
There was a really great sun set so my roommate and I quickly drove home, grabbed our cameras, and drove up to the capital where we took a bunch of really nice pictures of the snow and up by the capital. I love spending time with my roommate; taking pictures and creating fun memories... and putting off homework ;)
When my battery died on me and when it got too cold, we went back home.
For family home evening tonight, we watched the movie "Home Alone." Such a great, classic, Christmas movie.
I still can't believe we were watching a Christmas movie before Thanksgiving!!
It was still fun though; I have many memories of watching that movie as a kid with my siblings around Christmas time...
When we came back home, a few friends came over. My friend and I watched the movie "Tremors."
You have to watch that every once and a while... haha.
Over all a great Monday indeed. Even if we did watch a Christmas movie before Thanksgiving...
