I'll Be Home For Christmas

I am finally home in Texas!! Again, sorry, let me catch you up on these last few days. I think while I am home on vacation, I'll probably have more time to write daily.

On Sunday, I got up early and put together a slow cooker meal for later and got ready for the day. I attended my ward council meeting and other church meetings. We had a small group today; I think most everyone is gone for the holidays and the next few weeks will be the same.

After church, my boyfriend came over and we ate dinner and exchanged Christmas gifts. My mom called me and we coordinated a few things for my flight the following day.

Then my boyfriend and I worked on one of the value experiences from the young women's booklet 'Virtue' Our bishop had encouraged us to finish the booklet this semester.

Then we watched a movie and talked for a while, and then he went home. I'm sure going to miss him while I am home in Texas...

Afterwards, I finished up the rest of my laundry and went to bed on the early side.

Monday I got up bright and early and got myself ready for the airport.

I finished packing, put all my clean laundry away, paid my rent, and finished up the last few other things before I left. My sister came to pick me up and she took me to the airport.

I checked my bags and made it through security - for once - without any problems. All airports have all new security systems and the 'full body scan' wasn't my favorite part of the trip - to say the least. It was pretty awkward, but I made it through.

The plane was small, but I sat next to a very nice, middle-aged man who chatted with me the whole way. I usually don't like talking to other people while I'm on the plane, but he was so genuinely interesting and kind, I found him pleasant to talk to. He asked a lot about my church and it was a good experience to talk to him about a few things and answer his questions.

Even when we got off the plane we chatted all the way to baggage claim.

After I got my bags, I met my family outside. Wow, the air just smells different in Texas, so good! It was warm too when I came off the plane! I had to take my jacket off!

My family was happy to see me, as I was also happy to see them.

I had cut my hair about a month ago, and I didn't tell them about it (except my dad) So it was a fun surprise. Fun to see their reactions... especially my mom's :)

We came home and ate together - spaghetti, my favorite. :)

We watched a movie - of which I completely fell asleep through the entire thing. :)

Ah it's just good to be home... home for Christmas
