Home Sweet Home

"Saturday is the special day. It's the day we get ready for Sunday: We clean the house, and we shop at the store, So we wont have to work until Monday. We brush our clothes, and we shine our shoes, And we call it our get-the-work-done day. Then we trim our nails, and we shampoo our hair, So we can be ready for Sunday." (Children's Primary Songbook page #196)
That pretty much sums up my day today. My roommates and slept in today and then got straight to work. We cleaned the apartment this afternoon. We deep cleaned our bathroom and kitchen, including reorganizing the cupboards and drawers to fit our needs. Since we have all moved in, we have been just putting our things in different places and now it feels good to be organized.
"A place for everything, and everything in it's place." As mother use to say.
"
Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God." Doctrine and Covenants 88:119
I believe that this can also be applied to our own homes, in addition to the Temple as referenced here. When our laundry is done and folded, our dished washed and put away, our beds made neatly, our house clean and in order; there can be found peace. I think we can better study the scriptures and for school, eat healthier, and live happier when your home is organized.
