Happy Monday! Well, I had a really great day today. I started my day off right; I got up early and got myself ready for the day, I put a slow-cooker meal together for later, I was prepared for classes and read my scriptures, and I was out the door nice and early.
What a sunny day it was today, don't you just love the sunshine? I was able to see some friends before class and catch up with them.
At 11:10, my new math class started. I was a little nervous at first, so I sat in the back row. but then I was feeling a bit antisocial, so I moved up a row and sat next to a guy I didn't know.
Me: "Hi, what's your name?"
The guy next to me didn't have a chance to speak. Another guy in the next row up turned around and said: "Hi, my name is ... Come sit by me!"
Me: "....."
The class went well; the teacher taught well and the students participated. I felt more confident in this level of math, and I hope to do better at it.
I had English next. Ah English. The only thing about this class that is going to bother me a bit I think is that this is a business writing class; meaning that instead of expanding and writing more and more beautiful, lengthy, fluffy sentences, they want you to write it as briefly, straight forward, and to the point as possible.
Darn.
It's going to be a bit difficult to cut my papers in half. And maybe half again.
Well, I think it's good though to learn lots of different ways to write. I guess I can become a better writer if I learn different techniques, right?
So I went home after class and my apartment smelled delicious because of my thoughtful preparation and looking ahead this morning.
I ate and did some homework. Ah homework.
Later this evening, my roommates and I went up to the University of Utah again for a stake family home evening. We watched a movie in an outdoor amphitheater.
The movie was a surprise, but I totally called it!
"Make 'em laugh! Make 'em laugh! Don't you know, everyone wants to laugh!"
I love the movie 'Singin' in the Rain', what a great choice. I love a good classic once in a while; where the actors actually act, sing and dance...
I loved quoting the movie too :)
It was a really fun activity, it was great to see people from my ward and from my stake. So many great people.
Well, I guess that concludes my day again. Now I'm back home, and back to homework.
