Checks Off the List

I love day light savings time; the phrase 'fall back' always brings a smile to my face :) Ah that blessed extra hour...
I had a great day on Friday. I got nine and a half hours of sleep; I went to bed much earlier than I usually do and and I got to sleep in a bit. :) It felt good haha. I went with my roommate to her business class; her group was presenting.
Their groups had to come up with a product that was original and creative and market it; informing the class of the advertising techniques they were going to use and why their customers needed their product. My roommate did a great job :)
Afterwards, it was gourmet burger day at the cafe :) So my roommate and I had lunch together. Then I went to my class; business communications. Our class was again presenting their oral reports; of which mine is due on Monday.
After class, I talked to my sociology teacher about my project that we have to do at by the end of the semester. I was feeling kinda stuck as to where to exactly begin. I don't feel as creative about somethings, so I needed some ideas on how to create a project that would best show my teacher that I have been learning in his class.
I think I have a pretty good idea about which direction I'm going to go.
After class, I took the trax home. I was able to run into a new friend of mine, and we chatted together on the way home.
Once home, I slept for about an hour and then my sister came over to see me. I had a couple of things of hers and she came to pick them up. It was so good to see her. I remember last semester seeing her at least once a week for lunch because she worked so close to where I go to school. However, now she has gone back to school and has started a new job and I don't see her quite as often as I would like.
We arranged to meet for lunch next week though :)
Later, my friend came by and we went back to the school for a school activity called 'Mr. LDSBC' Lets just say that we left early....
We went to a friend's birthday party right afterwards. It was really fun; lots of friends, good music, and fun games.
Then it was time to cut the cake. After singing happy birthday to our friend, he suddenly began to throw the cake at everyone; thus starting a food fight and huge mess.
Frosting in my hair? Most definitely. Awesome? No, not really actually. Well, my friend helped me get all the frosting off my face, and that was nice of him :)
Later after most people had left, a couple of us stayed up and watched a movie. It was funny, we decided to watch the movie 'Back to the Future' and the funny coincidence is that Friday was November 5th, and (if you are familiar with the movie) Dr. Brown mentions the date "November 5, 1955" through out the movie.
Kinda cool haha.
Stayed up really late, but I had a blast.
This morning I slept in :)
I got myself ready for the day, and my roommate and I decided to knock a few things off our list of things to do in Salt Lake.
We went out to lunch at one of our favorite places.
Check.
We ran a few errands that she needed-radio shack.
Scavenged around DI in search of the perfect birthday present for another friend- we got him an ugly, old man sweater with a matching tie, and a trophy that said "Best Dressed Old Man", and a pin that said "40" on it. (He's pretty old now, but not that old haha)
Then we went to an old chocolate store near the capital that had been on TLC before.
So yummy, sadly expensive.
Check.
Next on our list was an antique store.
Way cool stuff, I definitely would go back to that place.
Check.
And lastly we ran over to Walmart for a few things.
I'm glad we were able to spend the afternoon together and check some things off our list :)
We came home and showered, did some laundry and got ready to go to another birthday party.
A few friend joined us and we drove over to his house. It was really fun; our friend really enjoyed the birthday gift we brought him. He put the sweater, tie, and pin right on and wore it for a bit during the party.
After we left, a couple of us went out to eat and then we headed back to our apartment. We played a few games and watched a move.
I had a blast today. I am so glad that we get an extra hour of sleep this weekend! I'll sure need it! Tomorrow will be prety busy for me.
