Fridays are the best, especially when spent with your family. I slept in and got myself ready for the day. I love being at my sister's house, she really has a special spirit in her home. I am grateful for her constant and genuine kindness and for her example to me.
My sister and brother-in-law came over and we decorated my sister's apartment with Christmas decorations, listened to Christmas music, and ate left overs from Thanksgiving.
Best part about the day after Thanksgiving: Left overs and Christmas music :)
We played some games and we watched a movie late into the night. I love spending time with my family, they lift me up and I always feel better about myself when I am with them.
Saturday morning I got up bright and early and packed up my things. My sister drove me to the trax station on the way to work and we said our goodbyes. I'll see her soon enough, I told myself.
I took the trax to my stop and walked home through the snow.
I came home to a pleasant surprise waiting for me. There was a rose and a note on my desk! My friend wanted to go out with me that evening; I called him up and said yes.
I did my homework and slept during the afternoon. I also caught up on some laundry, unpacking, and cleaning.
That evening, my friend and I went to Temple Square to see the lights. They are so beautiful! It was fun to see the temple grounds so crowded, cheerful, and lit up. The lights were beautiful, and the children and families made me laugh. We walked around in the North visitors center and when we came back out and towards the tabernacle, someone offered us tickets to see a concert right then at the tabernacle! Sweet. It was a really long concert, but it was cute. I love Christmas music.
When the concert was over, we went back to his house and had hot chocolate and watched a movie with his roommates and friends. I had a really fun time; I enjoy spending my time with him.
Sunday was my dad's birthday! I just love my dad, he is someone that I can always turn to and someone I feel like I have a special relationship with. I want to marry someone like my dad. I could go on and on about him, but I don't wish to get too personal.
Sunday was certainly a day to remember. There was so much snow on the ground when I woke up and it was still snowing on top of that! I got up and got ready for my church meetings and walked out the door in my heals.
So this is kinda embarrassing so don't laugh at me.
I walked about half way to the trax station and decided that it would probably be a better idea if I had my boots on instead.
What a concept.
I walked back home and pretty much turned my whole apartment up-side-down looking for my boots but only in vain; I could not find them anywhere!
I was so frustrated, especially because I was now late for my meeting. My roommate was nice enough however to allow me to borrow hers.
Well now I guess it's an excuse to go shoe shopping this week if I cannot find them. haha.
I got to the school and still had a good, productive, and inspiring set of meetings.
After church, my friends and I stayed after for ward choir.
"I just wanna sing!" :)
A bunch of us piled into a car and drove back to our friend's apartment and ate together. We then bundled up again and squeezed two more people in with us back to the school for ward prayer.
Good thing I like the guy I was squished up next to :)
Ward prayer was nice as usual, and then we drove back to my apartment again. My boyfriend and I made brownies and watched the movie 'Music and Lyrics' together, and then my roommates and a few others joined us and we watched 'Elf.'
Good times.
Monday morning I slept in and then went to my only class for the day. After class, I stayed at the school and worked on homework in the library. Our stake center is a block away from the school and the ward council members needed to be there early for our FHE that night, so I thought I would use my time better studying in the library and then just walk over, as opposed to going back home and then coming all the way back.
Family home evening tonight was a holiday dinner. You can only imagine the turn out at FHE when there is food involved haha.
After FHE, we came back to our apartment. We had a few friends over and worked a bit on homework and had a lot of laughs.
Tuesday I had to get up early. I love getting up early! I gave a speech in my public speaking class. It was a pretty easy speech, we had to do a 60 second sales speech. My speech was trying to persuade people to give service at the bishop's storehouse. It was right on time too; exactly 60 seconds. Boo-ya.
We didn't have a devotional, so I had lunch with a few friends and then my roommate and I went to our Doctrine and Covenants class. I worked on some things in the computer lab and then went to my last class for the day; mission prep.
We had two elders join our class and we could ask them any questions that we had. We had a very interesting discussion; I sure love missionary work and I definitely want to serve a mission some day. :)
I stayed at the school again and worked on some homework with a friend in the library until my boyfriend came to the school. We went to his religion class with him. Such a good class!
Afterwards, we went to the temple together and we were able to do some of his family names. Very special indeed.
He had to go to class and I headed home. My roommate and I did some grocery shopping and made our typical Sonic run :)
Then we just came home and put everything away and worked on homework.
Ah homework seems to be a continuous theme throughout this post... Well it is the last couple weeks of school.
I had a great weekend! I am happy!
